Novi, MI/San Diego, CA, December 17, 2018 – Annually, National Food Group commits five percent of its profits to organizations that help alleviate food insecurity and also promote food education. The initiative is named Step 1 because this is in many aspects the first step to making sure that people have access to food and nutrition. “Making sure people are fed is a passion for all of us here,” shared Sean Zecman, National Food Group President. “That fact that we still have people in our community who are struggling to find access to food compels us to take action.” Over the past 6 years, almost $1.5 million in resources has been given which equates to almost 6 million servings of food. 1 million servings were donated in 2018 alone. In addition to monetary and in-kind donations, the National Food Group team has paid time-off so they can participate within the community as volunteers.
