NATIONAL FOOD GROUP ANNOUNCES GRANTS FOR SCHOOL LUNCH DEBT
Michigan-based food distributor launches Grab The Tab to help schools with school meal debt relief
According to the School Nutrition Association, school lunch debt in the United States will reach almost $20 million in 2023 as schools struggle to ensure our students always get a meal. School lunches are what National Food Group and Zee Zees do best, so we want to help school districts ensure that every student can receive the food that they need without worrying that they have a negative balance and cannot afford a meal that day.
“Food insecurity and the stigma that goes with it is something that National Food Group is very passionate about helping alleviate,” said Samantha Bourque, National Food Group Corporate Social Responsibility Director. “Grab The Tab, we hope, is the first step and example of what companies can do when they listen to their customers and understand the landscape of our school cafeterias and students' access to nutritious meals.”
The Grab The Tab contest opens April 10, 2023 and closes April 28, 2023 at 11:59pm. For more information and to apply, visit zzgrabthetab.com.
