Novi, MI – January 2, 2024 – National Food Group, a national wholesale and retail food distributor, has named Tom Downey as its new Chief Financial Officer. Downey will be an integral part of the National Food Group leadership team and help provide strategic financial vision well into the future.
Before joining National Food Group, Downey was the CFO for Michigan Milk Producers, a dairy manufacturer with four production facilities located throughout the Midwest. Here, Downey was able to help lead them to their largest acquisition, Superior Dairy, a retail dairy processor out of Canton, Ohio. He also spent several years as a Senior Director of Turnaround and Restructuring at Alvarez & Marsal, a management and consulting firm. Downey started his career with the accounting firm Ernst & Young.
Downey is a CPA and holds a Master of Accounting from Michigan State University. In his free time, Downey enjoys golf, spending time up north and relaxing with his wife and twin daughters.
